Large numbers of black rhino

A Kenya Safari vacation must include a trip to the Aberdare countrywide Park, not only because a visit to Treetops possiblt the most noted safari lodge is Kenya is here, but also thanks to the amazing views, and the variety of wildlife that can be found.

Aberdare countrywide Park is a great Kenya Safari destination for both these reasons.

The Park varies from around 7000 feet to 14000 feet so there is everything from moorland to rainforests, bamboo forests to mountain peaks, all broken up by deep river valleys with streams streams and gorgeous waterfalls.

This in turn means a big range of wildlife to view on your safari vacation and Aberdare state Park naturally has te best known safari lodge in the world which is Treetops.  At Treetops and the Ark, both of which are treehouse hostels, where the walkways and rooms are up in the sky in the forest cover.  They’re marvellously situated beside waterholes and natural salt licks, there is all day and all night game viewing without leaving the hotel, thanks to the floodlighting.  There’s even a bell system in the room to waken guests if a good sighting arrives in the hours of darkness!!  There’s even an underground viewing hide so close to the waterhole, that you might nearly reach out and touch.

The great spread of height in the Park means different species in different environments, and up high the moorland is really harking back to the Scottish Highlands, butat ten thousand feet the bamboo thickets hide the bongo a rare and slippery forest antelope.

If you have come to see the enormous five, then elephants reign supreme over the waterholes, and lions hve to give way.  Leopards can be sighted there but mostly a night.

The Park also contains large numbers of black rhino.

Aberdare state Park isn’t a malaria area thanks to the height, butrecautions must continue to be taken, because you will be coming from or going to spots where Malaria is a real danger.

In summary no Kenya Safari vacation would be complete without visiting Aberdare.

What Is Better- Theme Park Or Safari?

General No Comments »

If you have managed to get over to Disney World you will know for a fact that they have a big ride over in Animal Kingdom known as Kilimanjaro Safari and of course it is supposed to be a bit like the real thing. However does it really compare or is it just a badly made ride that is there for the people who are interested in animals but not going on a safari.

Well believe it or not I can actually tell you that the ride itself is very good and can be a very nice alternative for you if you cannot afford to get over to Africa. It features many real animals that you could expect to see on a real safari. Of course there are some negatives to the ride. The person driving you around is very cheesy indeed and although they do give you a lot of really useful information on the animals you can often tell they have to repeat themselves many times during the course of the day.

It obviously doesn’t compare to the real thing but the thing is Disney are not trying to compare it to the real safari’s. All Disney are tyring to do is giving a bit of a taster when it comes to going on a safari. They are really only out there to show you the parts of Africa that people do not often get to see and are only trying to inspire people to actually go to the place itself.

So why don’t you actually go after a real Safari holiday by taking a Kenya Safari. Of course you could also go on one of those Botswana Holidays or even Zambia Holidays.

It is of course your choice on what you want to do, if you do not fancy the real Africa just go to the theme park!

Monkey Madness on Our Honeymoon

General No Comments »

I had been excited about my honeymoon for years, I have been with my partner since a young age, we were kind of childhood love hearts. We had planned our wedding for a whole three years before it took place and I can assure you that it was probably one of the greatest nights of my whole life.

But my story at the moment is not about the wedding it is more about our honeymoons and the friendly monkey that became a major part of our lives and the reason I am writing this article is because it actually made me want to have kids.

It all started when our parents booked us a trip to Kenya, we were set to go on a wonderful Safari trip for a week and then stay a week by the beach. After arriving at the destination, we were then taken on a long coach journey, as soon as we got to the cabin we went to sleep as we were exhausted. The morning came around pretty quick; it was something exciting to look forwards too, the day way filled with magic, I saw animals that I had never dreamt of seeing before.

We were on the way back to the cabin when we noticed that our front door was pried open, I quickly crept in too see what was going on and to my amazement I came across a little monkey, eating our mangos and bananas, he just turned around and smiled. We spent the rest of the night with the cute monkey and it felt as though we had our own little family. He decided to tag along with us on the Safari treks and outings. It was an absoluteley amazing week for all three of us, but time was up we had to all say our sad goodbyes. Mind you I do have five kids of my own now who are all little monkeys in their own ways.

For great Caribbean Holidays and Jamaica Holidays
