When Thinking Spain Do Not Just Think Villas And Hotels

General No Comments »

Spain is a great place to visit at any point of the year whether that is summer or winter but when people are thinking Spain they usually just think fancy hotels and villas along with the luxurious beaches, however this is not just what Spain is all about and there are many other things you could be doing on your next visit to the country.

Villa

There are so many things you can do in Spain but I cannott say that getting a villa is a bad thing, they are a fantastic place to spend some of your yime in the summer. It does of course give you more freedom to do whatever you want as well as giving you a lot of privacy which is always nice. One of the major problems with staying in a hotel is that you always get that annoying family that just love to be the centre of attention and to be honest it is just a pain in the ass and it can really wreck the holiday.

Anything Else?

Spain of course has many other things to offer like self drive holidays and these can be very relaxing indeed. There are so many holidays out there where you can go out walking and although it doesnt sound like one of the most exciting things to do it can be very relaxing. If you are thinking about doing something like this then I would always reccomend getting a guide. Doing something like this is good because it makes a change to the normal things.

Both Costa Rica holidays and Chile Holidays can be had in this way too so keep that in mind!

For A Cheaper Holiday Think Wales!

General No Comments »

More and more people are choosing not to holiday abroad this year, instead preferring to avoid the cost and stress of travelling by staying at home. The credit crunch has affected a lot of people and many are finding that they are short of money to spend on luxuries such as holidays. Combine the recession with the current strength of the euro against the pound, and it’s not surprising that the number of UK holidaymakers booking their holidays at traditionally popular European destinations like Spain and Portugal has plummeted.

In fact, according to recent figures released by the European Commission 48 per cent of Europeans intend to spend their holidays in their own countries this year, that’s five per cent higher than in 2008. Those who are still planning to travel abroad are spending a lot more time shopping around for the cheapest deals, and booking in advance on the internet to save on cost.

The credit crunch may mean bad news for tourism in Spain, but for UK destinations like Wales it could be just the boost they’ve been waiting for. Not only are a lot of UK holidaymakers looking at destinations closer to home this year, but the weak pound could attract more visitors from mainland Europe as well.

Wales is the perfect destination in the UK with a huge variety of things to see and do and places to stay, from hotels to camping to rented flats and holiday cottages. The scenery is stunning, from the world famous Welsh mountains and valleys to the beautiful coastline which has been awarded with no less than 43 blue flag awards for water quality, cleanliness and safety. There is no shortage of options including gardens to visit, walking, exploring or activity holidays, including abseiling, water sports and ‘coasteering’ right along the stunning coast. So if you’re looking for a UK destination this summer whether you’re planning a family holiday, romantic getaway or a short breaks Wales could be the choice for you.

Are you finding it hard to find a perfect holiday?

General No Comments »

It can be easy to decide on where you want to go in the world. The country bit is easy, it’s when you get to a smaller location you need to really think about it? So why don’t I provide you with two of the top locations to holiday in the world! Although both of these holidays are in Egypt, they both offer tourists an amazing amount to do, and in luxury too.

Sharm El Sheikh is a grand awe inspiring country, built for royalty. This is a great place to travel to, not to mention one of the most luxurious places in the world in terms of accommodation. Diving in Sharm offers any diver a great experience, from swimming with wildlife to wreck diving. Don’t like camels or horses, then no need to worry, you can borrow a Quad Bike for travelling cross country! Welcome to Sharm El Sheikh, a place where all other regions are easily accessible, including areas like Cairo. This is where the Sphinx is and you can travel to the Pyramids as well. St Catherine’s Monastery is a gracious and glorious place to venture to. Because of this buildings importance in the religious world, it is highly regarded and visited very often.

Hurghada is just to the south of Sharm El Sheikh and too offers some amazing diving locations. Snorkelling and free diving are very big here; the corals and wildlife surrounding Hurghada are truly wonderful. If you still want to enjoy the underwater world and see all of the coral and wildlife, but don’t want to get wet, then you can always hitch a ride on one of the Glass Bottom boats that are around. Something that is recommended here and is different to Sharm is the Safaris. Tour Operators in Hurghada also give people the opportunity to go out into the desert on Jeeps and other sand buggies. Bedduin is a village in the centre of the desert, and you can actually visit this place to see how the people get their water and food in this environment (very interesting).

So Egypt holidays sound good now, or perhaps Sharm El Sheikh holidays, or well if you really don’t fancy either of these and just want to calm down, maybe you should try Maldives holidays!

Discover the Canary Island of Lanzarote

General No Comments »

Lanzarote is a popular holiday island, located in the Canaries.  Which are the seven strong Spanish owned island group situated off the coast of West Africa.  On the same line of longitude as parts of Mexico and the Bahamas.  Enabling visitors to enjoy great weather whatever the time of the year. This wonderful weather has helped the Canaries to become the second most visited holiday destination in Spain.  With over 1.5 million tourists enjoying their holidays in Lanzarote – the fourth largest of the islands – over the course of last year alone.

So lets have a glimpse of the island and find out why family holidays in Lanzarote remain such a popular choice and picking one of the many Lanzarote holiday villas that the island has to offer is becoming an increasingly popular do it yourself accommodation  choice for holiday makers and tourists.

Like all of the Canaries Lanzarote boasts a unique charm and character.  Visitors expecting a lush green island will be disappointed though.  As it is much more barren than the rest of the Canaries.  As a result of experiencing very little rainfall.  Whilst also boasting an arid terrain forged by volcanic eruptions centuries ago.

This volcanic region – called Timanfaya – was declared a national park back in 1974 – and dominates the island’s interior.  It’s also the most popular sight on Lanzarote thanks to its incredible lunar like scenery.  Which in the past has earned the region a number of starring roles in major movie productions.  Most recently Broken Embraces starring Penelope Cruz, the latest release from Spanish director Pedro Almodovar.

There are lots of different accommodation choices available to holidaymakers here.  With the island offering everything from cheap apartments through to luxury Lanzarote villas and hotels.  Most of which can be found in the main resorts such as Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen.  With a growing selection available across the countryside too as demand for rural accommodation grows.

There are over ninety beaches for visitors to explore.  Many of these are man made in the resorts – using sand imported from the Sahara.  So tourists should head for coastal villages such as Famara and Arrieta to experience the best all natural stretches of sand on the island.

Many tourists visiting Lanzarote for the first time are surprised to encounter so much in the way of things to do and see.  As the island boasts an abundance of cultural attractions – with no less than twelve fascinating museums.  Such as the Museum of International and Contemporary Art in Arrecife.  Along with plenty of picturesque towns and villages, such as Haria and Teguise, the first settlement ever established by the Spanish in the Canaries in the early 1400´s.

Swine flu still striking the Holiday district!

General No Comments »

Swine Flu is still as strong as it ever was. All of us thought that Swine Flu was starting to fade out, and cases had started to drop. We are now aware that Swine Flu has travelled almost the entire Globe now. Although Swine Flu has received such a cold welcome, what are the main symptoms for us to worry about?

Swine Flu is something that can be distinguished relatively easily from the “normal” strain of Flu. It is said that if you have Swine Flu, there will be no questioning it, you will know about it. Flu makes its way through the body at a slower rate, it takes around two days for it to get to it’s worst. Swine Flu is one of those Viruses that takes action very quickly, and deals damage fast. The Symptoms that you get with Swine Flu are very much the same as those that you get from the Common Flu, such as Back aches and muscle ache, Nausea. The biggest and most noticeable difference in these Flu’s is that the Swine Flu one is much, much worse, all of the symptoms you would normally experience are terribly exacerbated.

The tourism industry has once again been smacked by the Swine Flu Virus. School half term has just passed, and so have the holiday rushes that come with it, but it was not quite so pleasant for some travelling to Egypt, suspected of having Swine Flu. These people have described their experiences as harrowing, and the place they were taken to to be a “hell hole”. After their body heats were monitored as above normal in the airport at Sharm El Sheikh, they were rushed to a hospital with other Brit families. This has proved that the Swine Flu virus on’t be going away quietly, and now with Premiership football players being diagnosed with the virus, it shows it’s still spreading.

Egypt holidays have received a bit of a crash recently; Caribbean holidays including St Lucia holidays have shown to be very successful through the Swine Flu age.

Spending Time In Birmingham, England and Facts You Should Know

General No Comments »

In the last few years more tourists are searching for new destinations which afford something not available elsewhere or, the absolute minimum something different to the popular sunny beach vacation. Under the current conditions many people are, sadly realizing that they have dramatically less cash for spending on a vacation and are, frustratingly, forced into making cutbacks to stretch their cash further. One way of meeting this requirement is to search out a less expensive destination. The article below introduces the reader to Birmingham, a city in England. With favorable exchange rates hotel and guest house accommodation in Birmingham is far cheaper than in previous decades.

The city of Birmingham is situated in the English county of the West Midlands  and those living in the city are known as “Brummies”. Birmingham’s dialect sounds typically northern English and it is very tricky to fully comprehend what is being said a difficulty which is made worse if if you have not heard these accents before. Luckily nearly all Brummies are kind, polite and extremely helpful and do their very best to explain so if the need arises don’t hesitate to engage in conversation about help and directions or guidance in choosing  bed & breakfast accommodation in Birmingham.

The city has  a superb number of places to visit and things to do including some highly informative and equally interesting art galleries and museums, such as the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter, Barber Institute of Fine Arts, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery and the Thinktank in the Eastside. Why is Being At The Airport Such a Chore

General No Comments »

There is no doubt that everybody loves to go on holiday, but easily the worst part about the entire trip is the airport.

9/11 has done us no favours when it comes to the airport as now the delays are even longer and people are even more stressed than they were before. The worst thing about the airport has to be the security checks that must be endured. It is totally understandable that everybody must put their bags through the scanner as nobody wants something awful happening to the plane, but do they have to treat everybody like criminals and be so rude?

On top of this, they seem to really enjoy throwing your baggage around as much as they can? It seems that whenever you see your baggage at the airport it is either being thrown around by a machine or a person. There never appears to be any padding when the cases fly down the belt at your destination, meaning any valuables will surely be broken.

Passengers trying to get on board the plane first are such a big pain. Why would you bother? People like to try and get on first, even when their row number has not been announced. This obviously annoys the people who have genuinly been called, who are then stuck at the back of a long queue. Why do they always seem to do this? The plane will go when everybody is on board and not before and surely the less time you spend on the plane the better as by now you would have already read the paper/magazines and worked your way through your entire playlist on your Mp3 player.

If you want to get to your favourite destination, unfortunately this is something you have to deal with. If this all happens to you just remember that you are off on holiday whether that is on one of those USA tours or an Alaskan cruise you are sure to have a good time. That is of course if you have managed to get through the airport in the first place!

Everybody quickly, grab a holiday to Mexico, send your thanks to the Strain of Swine Flu!!

General No Comments »

It may come as a surprise to you, but the best holiday destination in the world at the moment is Mexico. With everything that is happening and has happened in Mexico, this might be the best thing for them to do. With all the bad press Mexico has received about Swine Flu, all of the holiday resorts and travel deals have cut their prices by around fifty percent!!

Because of the situation that Mexico has fallen into, they have had to make some drastic changes to all of their holiday offers. Tourism generates a large amount of money for Mexico, so getting this back on track is a very key event for them. Caribbean holidays have also been affected by this and have lost revenue because of the epidemic across the sea.

You can even find some hotels that will offer you a 1 hundred dollar deposit at the hotel for you to spend on hotel services. As far as holidays are concerned, this is definitely the place to be. Both the Caribbean and Mexico have not had much good news published about them because of the Swine Flu but the holiday offers are amazing.

So is there actually any risk of you catching it? Could you contract it? As cases of Swine Flu are disappearing out of the press, global panic is slowing down. An article posted in the Sunday Times Travel section even mentions Mexican Hoteliers offering free holidays for 3 YEARS to any tourists who catch Swine Flu within 14 days of visiting their resorts.

So go ahead and try some Mexico holidays or try something more Caribbean like Grenada holidays or Tobago holidays, prices for all of these places have dropped dramatically, your sure to find something you like. You might as well just go to Mexico anyway, your just as likely to catch it in any other country in the world now anyway.

Vacations in Sheffield and Tourist Attractions Worth A Visit

General No Comments »

This year Vacation in the United Kingdom are more popular than in previous years. The numerous reasons are complex but the majority agree that the primary factor is the current economic environment and the increasing need to reduce costs, especially in connection with family vacations. A further influential fact is the low value of the English Pound which makes foreign vacations expensive for those living in Britain but, alternatively, travel into the UK is cheap. England has many first class vacation destinations including a fine selection of seaside resorts, however increasing numbers of tourists are choosing to take their vacations in cities instead. Popular cities include; London, Bristol and Manchester but there are a great many other cities in Britain in which to take a vacation such as Sheffield. With rooms from as low as twenty pounds a night, bed and breakfast in Sheffield makes for reasonablu priced city vacation destination.

Visitors Attractions In Sheffield

For a city with an industrial heritage especially in the steel and cutlery industries, Sheffield is home to a superb variety of art galleries. The most popular are the Millennium Galleries, Metalworks Gallery and Ruskin Gallery. The Millennium Galleries are free to enter and have visiting exhibitions (entry is for a few pounds. The Ruskin Gallery is based upon a collection given by John Ruskin for the improvement of the working folk of Sheffield and includes watercolors, minerals, casts, paintings, sketches and a small collection of medieval illuminated manuscripts.

Visitors will find that Sheffield has a small selection of museums but the City Museum is found on the outskirts of the center of the city as is the Kelham Island Museum which exhibits all kinds of things associated with the industrial past of the city and old machinery. Even though Sheffield was bombed heavily during WWII several fine examples of Victorian and older buildings survive and the city center is incredibly easy to navigate on foot. Try to make time to see the Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul which dates back to the 15th century.

Staying In Sheffield

Because the city has a University the bars, cafes and clubs can become surprisingly busy at the weekends, when students make the very most their free time. While many tourists enjoy the vibrant night scene others prefer a more quiet place in which to stay, such visitors should book a room in a hotel away from the city center.

If a weekend city break in Sheffield is not really your thing why not consider booking a few days in a London bed and breakfast, the nation’s capital? Otherwise why not think about booking a couple of weeks in a Liverpool guest house,  which was Europe’s Capital of Culture 2008 and has an amazing collection of world class visitor attractions.

The UK has a great deal to offer the visitor and the numerous highly engaging, and incredibly diverse, cities often offer more than the many seaside resorts.

Vegas has more casinos than you an shake a stick at, is it really necessary?

General No Comments »

Vegas is most famous for its Gambling and luxury like casinos. Luxurious is what the casinos in Las Vegas are all about, they offer us all kinds of different games to try our luck at. Is this all a bit too much though…. Are the casinos just completely taking over Vegas?

On Monday a new casino called the Sand’s Bethlehem Casino opened up bringing the count of casinos in Las Vegas to 122. This means that there are about 200,000 slot machines in Las Vegas alone. Is it just me or is this slightly ridiculous number. There are a huge amount of visitors to Las Vegas every year, somewhere around 36 million. People don’t always go to Las Vegas just so they can burn holes in the pockets. People also go to this wondrous place to get married, about 300 Las Vegas weddings are conducted every day.

That’s a lot of gambling and a lot of weddings, the casinos do contribute a large amount of recreational activities. So in truth 120 casinos might be just the right amount. The Bellagio and Caesers Palace are but a couple of Las Vegas most famous and popular casinos. These bring in a huge amount of revenue for Las Vegas. People are packing in the Florida Villas idea and moving to the gambling nation.

Now that British Airways have set up a direct flight to Las Vegas from Heathrow I am sure that the visiting rates will be increasing as well. Should we be trying to stop the building of more casinos in Las Vegas? Vegas is the gambling capital, they are going to be constructing more new casinos all the time. At some point in the future there won’t be any need for trhe construction on more casinos because there will be enough throughout Vegas. We can get all we need from the casinos that currently exist in sunny Vegas at the moment, but there may be need for some new one’s soon. Las Vegas holidays will be growing from year to year and so will the amount we spend in the casino.

Get a Cheap Holiday This Year

General No Comments »

As we are already aware we are in one of the worst economic downturns that we have seen for a long time and the worst affected sector has to be travel.

A vast amount of people are still booking their breaks in the UK, which leads them to abandon their overseas destinations which could result in a huge amount of cheap holidays. People are hugely cutting back amid fears that the pound has become incredibly weak compared to other currencies.

But things are actually not looking too bad as bookings have risen in countries such Turkey because of the all inclusive aspect. On the other hand non all inclusive destinations which include Spain and Portugal are suffering a lot, so this summer you could potentially get a great bargain.

Again things are not all bad, because huge amounts of money are being pumped back into the UK economy, with caravan and UK family holidays being booked up in the dozen. Some places have even run out of spaces.

Although prices are still currently low for late overseas destination bookings, authorities warn that "The consumer that books late is taking a gamble that flight prices to the Western Med will remain low but there is a risk that these seat prices will sky rocket in June.”

So if you are planning to go away this summer I would look at booking it within the next couple of weeks, so that you can effectively keep your costs down, as the economy has the tendency to change in an instant.

Check out these 3 holiday destinations

General No Comments »

Here are 3 holidays that I think you should consider this year:

Jamaica – What a fantastic place, first of all it’s in the Caribbean, which means we’re off to a good start. White beaches and all day sun, this almost certainly going to put a smile on your face. Doplhins, swimming with dolphins is one of the greatest things you can do, and in this environment it feels like you out with the wildlife. However if this seems to tiring then you can always go for a float with the Sting rays. However if you don’t want to do either of these, you can still go and visit the Bob Marley museum, this place always receives good reviews. Try Jamaica holidays, they really are special.

Cuba – This place is another destination in the Caribbean where you can enjoy the sun. Cuba is energetic yet peaceful, there is so much to do on this island but I will only mention a few of them. First off, the cigar making factories, you can choose from several and they will teach you to make a cigar, it doesn’t matter if you don’t smoke its great fun anyway. Secondly there is a place called Varadero, it has one of the most gorgeous coast lines you have ever seen and has a wide range of restaurants pubs and hotels. Cuba has prodcued many famous figures including the likes of Fidel Castro. The Nacional hotel is a famous landmark in Cuba, it has starred in gangster films with the likes of Frank Sinatra, and has had People such as Winston Churchill stay. Cuba holidays are absolutely booming don’t miss out.

Dubai – Well I think that you all know how popular this place is but I will help shed a bit more light. You head here to feel like a king or queen. Dubai gives us everything we could want if we were millionaires, and we don’t even need the money when we go over there to be treated as such. Dubai is the center for gold trading, so when you go to the markets, and you must, just make sure that the gold market is doing well. Riding the skies in a hot air balloon is great where ever you are, but over Dubai you get a sense of how small it is in comparison with the deserts around it. You should try going on holidays to Dubai, they are so uplifting.

Things You Need To Know about Vacations In Bradford, England

General No Comments »

The city of Bradford can be found in West Yorkshire, an English county. Built near to the Pennine mountain range the town of Bradford was ideally placed to thrive during the period of history known as the industrial revolution. The fact is that, during the nineteenth century, the city of Bradford stood at the very forefront of the Industrial revolution and it quickly became an incredibly important international textile manufacturing centre, specialising in the wool industry and Bradford gained the nickname of the wool capital of the world. Due to the ample supply of raw materials of coal, soft water and iron ore the town saw very rapid expansion of its manufacturing base and a correspondingly rapid population growth. Unfortunately the city’s textile industry fell into decline in the mid nineteen hundreds. Ever since that time the city of Bradford has developed into   something of a popular short break destination with a a surprising number of guest houses and hotels offering bed and breakfast accommodation in Bradford.

Bradford’s industrial history has left a legacy of superb examples of Victorian architecture, which include; the Wool Exchange, the Neoclassical St. George’s Hall, old mills and the City Hall with it’s gothic extension at the back. The most ancient construction to be found in the city is the Cathedral, which can be traced back to medieval days, and for most of it’s life was a simple parish church. Sadly but a few buildings survive from this period, except for Bolling Hall. Bolling Hall is now home to a museum, situated approximately one mile away from the city centre. Built in a leafy garden, it takes you on a wondrous journey, to a period dating back roughly 500 years, through the lives and times of the families who could once call Bolling Hall their home.

The city of Bradford is the home of the National Media Museum, which is one of the most popular museums found outside of England’s capital city, London. At one time known as the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television, the fabulous museum is a free to enter attraction which is suitable for people of all ages. It houses three cinemas, of which one is said to be the best in Britain. Folk are able to explore the past, present and future of television in Experience TV, watch your favourite television moments in TV Heaven, experiment with light, lenses and colour in the Magic Factory and explore the exciting world of animation and also watch a genuine animator working in the Animation Gallery. Every weekend and during holidays the National Media Museum has an exciting packed schedule of activities, talks and free tours.

If you are in the process of planning a city vacation in Bradford you will find a large amount of online hotels and guest houses providing Bradford bed and breakfast accommodation. You will discover a broad selection of Bradford guest houses and hotels at http://bradford.hotelreservationhelper.com/

Why Would Should Take On Holiday With You

General No Comments »

Holidays would not be the same without sunglasses. They have been both a functional and fashionable accessory for many years now.Sunglasses can range from $5 to many thousands and it is predicted that the average person will own 50 pairs in their life. But why do we need sunglasses and why are they vital when you’re holidaying

Driving.  A lot of people choose to hire a car when they are abroad, especially during Caribbean holidays.Additionally people taking holidays within their own countries frequently drive there themselves.Accidents happen every year abroad when people are distracted when the sun gets in their eyes or even through drivers overheating. Wearing some sunglasses often protects a large area of the face from the suns rays which means not as much heat can get to it. They will also stop the sun from getting in the drivers eyes and can prevent glare or sun reflections.

Sun Blindness. If you do not wear sun glasses for your whole, lets say Barbados holidays, you run the risk of getting slightly more permanent blindness. If the sun is in contact with the eyes for an extended period of time, there are two possible hazards. The retina can become damaged from over exposure and also the fine muscles that control eye movements can become damaged from over straining. Both can lead to a loss of vision quality and sometimes complete blindness

Cancer. Your skin is not the only thing the sun can harm, your eyes are vulnerable as well. U.V rays can lead to a mutating of the delicate tissue cells in the eyes and these spread into other cancers. Eye cancer is a very difficult form to treat so often leads to the sufferer having surround tissue removed and sometimes even the whole eye.To give yourself the best chance of avoiding cancer, purchase decent sunglasses that give one hundred percent U.V guard and don’t forget to wear them

Las Vegas is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular places on earth and one of the best USA holidays you can go on. There is an undescripable amount going on and an atmosphere that is matched nowhere on earth.  It can be a little overwhelming however and you need to plan your Las Vegas holidays properly before you go in order to get the most out of them. If you follow these tips then it will help you get the most from you holiday and avoid any negatives.

escape the city. Experiencing the world outside of the crazy city is something that you must do at least once when you visit Vegas. It is set in the beautiful Nevada desert and only by taking a trip out into the wilderness will you really get an idea of its scale and amazing features. Checking out the world famous Grand Canyon is something that should be on your list. If you want to witness a sun-set to die for, head over the canyon in the earl evening. If your budget can stretch to it, I recommend the helicopter tours, they’re out of this world

Go to shows. Las Vegas offers a number of shows that match or better any in the world. They have the money and the locations to put on some real spectacles. You may even want to check before you go and plan your trip around which shows are on at the time. Ask some people in your hotel or around down which are the best shows that are on at the time. Its always better to get some independent opinions and personal recommendations

Limit your gambling fund. Even if you have never gambled before in your life, chances are the amount of opportunity to do so Vegas will tempt you into trying. If you do decide to splash a little cash that set a budget and stick to it. Don’t expect to make any money from gambling. Any cash you do put on the table should be cash that you can afford to lose.

Follow these tips and your holiday in Vegas will be one those American holidays that you won’t forget in a hurry
